This is the first project performed on the new platform Coriolis II.
The aim is to study the dynamics of the mixing between fresh and salty water in an estuary or a fjord. Both configurations can be idealized as a channel in communication with the sea basin through an obstruction due to sediment accumulation. In the fjord case, the salty water flows over this obstruction when tide is rising, while in the esturay case the salty water intrusion is limited by the entrainment of the fresh water current in the upper part.
